HOW TO GET STUDENT VISA FOR UK? Step-by-step visa application Guide

Have you received an offer letter from a top-notch UK university? If yes, congratulations!

Now let's plan for a Visa step by step.

  • The earliest you can apply is at least six months. You will receive your VISA within three months of applying. If your course is longer than six months, you can land in the UK up to one month before your start date.
  • Complete your online application by clicking here
  • Once you click on the link, click on choose your language, then click on student, then select India to provide your biometric, Click here to see the locations in India of biometrics, then click on I have identified the spot where I will provide my biometrics, then click on Next and then click on Apply Now.
  • Now you are at this link. Enter your email ID, and create a password. Fill in your other details like your phone number.
  • Now it will ask if you have Marshall, Chevening, or commonwealth scholarship?
Marshall Scholarship: This is for US citizens only.

Chevening or commonwealth Scholarship: If you are from India, you must apply for this. It generally starts in Aug and ends in Nov. Take help from experts like dream college abroad for this process to increase your chances of getting scholarships.
  • Now it will ask for CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies). Fill in the reference number.
  • Enter your details as per your passport.
  • And Apply

PAY FEES
  • Now we need to pay the fees and get a reference number that starts with GWF
BOOK APPOINTMENT
  • Once fees are paid, you will be directed to VFS Global sites to book an appointment at a Visa Application center to capture your biometric data.
UPLOAD SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS
  • Use a proper scanner and scan the documents properly, don't click pics from your phone.
VISIT THE VISA APPLICATION CENTER
  • Reach the center at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time.
  • Must carry your passport
  • Your biometric information like fingerprints and photographs will be taken. Avoid any kind of decoration, cut, or erosion in ur finger which could hinder fingerprints.
TRACK YOUR APPLICATION
  • You will keep getting updates in form of SMS and email depending upon the center to center.
COLLECT YOUR PASSPORT
  • You will be contacted by the center to collect your passport once it's ready or they may courier it to your address(need to pay extra fees for it).
